About Me
Based in Beverley, East Yorkshire, I am an artist with a passionate love of painting.
My main drive is to capture the essence of a person beautifully through portraiture. From here I have developed a love of painting dogs, and approach portraits of them, with the same sensitivity that I do people. Capturing their personalities is vital.
As a complete contrast I also enjoy expressing myself through vibrant landscapes, were I can experiment creatively.
I have exhibited widely locally, including winning the Tony Bartl prize for portraiture in 2011 at The Usher Gallery in Lincoln as a member of Linconshire Artists' Society. My work has regularly been displayed in The Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, The Wolds Gallery, Beverley Art Gallery, and Haltemprice Open Art Exhibitions; also at Middleton and Sewerby Hall.
Three of my portraits reached the preselection stage in 2012 for the Royal Society of Portraiture exhibition at The Mall Galleries, London. My ambitions is to exhibit there in the not too distant future.
